Blair Crew is a co-ed, parent-supported club rowing team of high school and middle school students primarily located in Montgomery County, Maryland. Student-athletes from all backgrounds, cultures, and genders are welcome. No rowing experience is necessary. Blair Crew provides a team experience that develops strength, confidence, discipline, and lasting friendships.

WHEN, WHERE & HOW DOES BLAIR CREW PRACTICE?

Fall Season water practice usually begins the week prior to first day of MCPS school at the end of August and Spring Season starts in February. Winter strength and endurance training runs November through January. The Fall and Spring seasons include one land practice at the YMCA and four on-the-water practices per week. Water practices involve rowing in boats of 4 or 8 rowers at Bladensburg Waterfront Park on the Anacostia River from 3:45 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. – 12:00p.m. on Saturdays. Prospective rowers are invited to try out the first week free. We have a team of professional coaches who are certified by USRowing and SafeSport.

WHERE DO WE COMPETE?

Blair Crew club competes in local and national regattas that vary from year to year, and have included for example:

• Washington Metro Interscholastic Championships • Stotesbury Cup • SRAA National Championships

2025-2026 SEASON

Winter training will begin in December, and the spring season registration will begin Feb. 1, 2026.

Blair Crew is an inclusive, welcoming team.  We are a group that is serious about competing, while also having fun.  If you are hesitant about getting involved because of the cost, please let us know.  We have scholarships available!
