Blair Crew winter training and conditioning begins on Monday, Dec. 2nd and continues until February 21, 2020.
Winter practice will focus on erg workouts, body weight circuit training and stair running exercises. Daily one hour sessions held 3:30pm – 4:30pm at Blair High School, Monday through Friday, will allow students to maintain, as well as increase their strength, stamina and flexibility during the off water season.
During December, Rowers will participate in the Concept 2 Holiday Challenge, creating a personal logbook on our team page to track distance rowed and keep record of specific ranked workouts. Returning in January, after the holiday break, Blair Crew will be training to compete in the Mid-Atlantic High School Indoor Rowing Competition held February 1, 2020 at TC Williams High school in Alexandria, Virginia. Erg routines allow rowers to focus on many skills that will translate to improved rowing technique when we return to the water at the end of February. New novices are welcome to join this session to learn to row on stationary rowing machines.
Meet at Blair High School at the stair nearest the weight and locker rooms. There is no water practice during winter training.
Cost is $225. Limited financial assistance is available, please contact Lucy Shivnan (firstname.lastname@example.org) for consideration.
