BLAIR CREW SPRING 2012 REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND CHECKLIST
Please follow these instruction to register for the spring season:
REGISTER:
- complete all parts of the online registration form available here. To complete the online registration you will need to
- Affirm that the rower and parent have reviewed the Rower’s Contract, available here.
- Complete and sign the Blair Crew Online Waiver and Release, available at here.
- Complete the U.S. Rowing Waiver Only Membership and release, by following these steps: (for rowers under age 18, this must be done by a parent or guardian.)
1. Go to https://rosters.usrowing.org/
2. Enter the Blair Crew Member Code: GN7H6
3. Enter two of the following: your rower’s name, birthdate, or USRowing Member
ID. Choose your rower’s name from the populated list
- If the name is listed more than once, choose the “paid membership” number rather than the “waiver-only” number (if you have that choice).
- If the name is not listed at all, “create new member”
4. View and update your rower’s profile. You may also upload a photo! (Optional).
5. Submit your waiver.
6. Note the US Rowing ID number so that you can enter it in the online Blair Crew
registration.
- Print, complete, and mail the bus transportation permission form, which is found here.
PAYMENT
- Pay the comprehensive Spring fee of $725 either
- via PayPal using the following link here or,
- by check mailed to the address at the end of this document;
- be sure to include rower’s name on check;
- This payment can be made in the following installments:
- Rowers who have not paid fees will not be allowed to participate in practices & regattas
- Those whose fundraising exceeds $200 by March 15, 2012 will receive a registration fee rebate, to be calculated at the end of the season.
- Deadlines for all registration obligations: Registration for rowing closes on February 10. We have a finite number of spaces so be sure to register within this time frame. In the event we are oversubscribed, we may have to limit participation.
MEETINGS:
- Parents and Rowers are strongly urged to attend the following meetings:
- Rowers’ Meeting Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 3 pm at Blair
- Parents’ Meeting Thursday January 26, 2012 at 7 pm at Takoma Park Community Center, Azalea Room, 7500 Maple Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland 20912
- Mail bus form and check (if not paid online) to Blair Crew:
Box 7056
Silver Spring, MD 20907
- Payments by check and Forms will also be collected at the January 26 Parent Meeting
All participants must complete the above registration requirements before participating in the Spring rowing season. Please register as soon as possible — we expect a full team.
NEW AND NOVICE ROWERS:
In addition, novice or new rowers and, as specified, their parents, need to do the following:
__ pass a swim test to be scheduled prior to our spring season (applicable to those who have not taken the swim test in a prior season);
__ watch the safety video
__ Review the Crew Safety Guide available here (both rower and parent)
__ Review the Rower Handbook available here (both rower and parent)
REFUND POLICY: New rowers who withdraw before March 10 receive a full refund, minus a $25 administrative fee. All rowers who withdraw before March 25 may receive a $360 refund.
